MARSHALL?- Services for Dennis Spencer, 67, of Marshall will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rehkamp-Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lake Benton Memorial Hill Cemetery in Lake Benton.
He died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at his residence in Marshall, after a brave battle with cancer.

Dennis Lee Spencer was born Nov. 14, 1944, in Hendricks, to Clifford and Geraldine (Nelson) Spencer. Dennis had a big heart and was able to share his love with those around him at the HSI house. He enjoyed making crafts, woodworking and solving word search puzzle books. He spent many hours outside, fishing, horseback riding and camping. No challenge was ever too big for Denny. He always put others before himself, visiting one on one, celebrating birthdays with his brother, and helping others whenever he could. He served as historian for People First.
Dennis will be greatly missed by those that cared for him, his brother, Bob (Rhonda) Spencer of Lake Benton; sister, Loralee Spencer of Marshall; nieces, Lisa Spencer and Belinda Spencer; nephew, Jason Heinrich; and great-nephew, Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
