MARSHALL -Services for Gary Huso, 59, of Marshall will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Rehkamp-Horvath Funeral Home in Minneota. Visitation will continue from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Hope Lutheran Church. Burial will follow the service at Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Minneota.
He died suddenly Thursday, July 5, 2012, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall.
Gary Dean Huso was born June 24, 1953, in Marshall, to Kenneth and Lavina (Holland) Huso. He grew up in rural Minneota and graduated from Lynd High School in 1971. Gary attended Vocational Technical School in Pipestone for Grocery Management for a few years and then worked for the Red Owl Grocery Store in Marshall. In the early 1980s, he began farming with his dad and continued farming until his death. He also worked as a Seed Dealer for Golden Harvest Seed Company. Gary was very passionate about classic cars and enjoyed attending car shows. He also enjoyed spending time with friends at the Roundup, CJs and the Marshall neighbors in "the hood." He enjoyed traveling to Sioux Falls, Arizona, and other places including local farm shows with his friends. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church of Minneota and had served on the church council and cemetery board.
He is survived by his sister, Gail Johnson (and significant other Jim Sadler) of Maple Grove; niece, Kristi (and Jason) Johnson-Milbrandt of Watertown, S.D., aunt, June Pauling of Lamberton and Velma Vickerman of Fairmont; cousins; relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant siblings.
Memorials preferred to Hope Lutheran Church of Minneota.
