Engels’ double lifts A’s in extras

In a Corn Belt League game where offense came at a premium, Marshall's Ryan Engels delivered an RBI double in the top of the 11th inning that proved to be the game-winning run in a 2-1 victory at Sacred Heart on Saturday.

Taylor Rignell also had an RBI for the A's, and scored on Engels' game-winning hit. Zach Olson and Tyler Flattum each had a pair of hits for Marshall, which improves to 19-5 overall.

The A's Nate Dickhausen pitched all 11 innings, striking out five for the victory.

Starting on Tuesday at home against Willmar, Marshall begins a stretch of six games in five straight days. The A's host Minneota on Wednesday, travel to Willmar Thursday, host Raymond on Friday and play two games on Saturday. Marshall takes on Raymond at 2 p.m. Saturday before traveling to Milroy to take on the Yankees at 7:30 p.m. Marshall caps off the week on Sunday, taking on the U.S. Military All-Stars.
