Minnesota splits weekend set

The Minneota Mudhens hosted a pair of games over the weekend, falling 5-1 to Mountain Lake on Saturday before coming away with a 9-0 victory against Lakefield on Sunday.

In Saturday's loss, Jason Myhre and Justin Greenwood led Minneota's offense with two hits each. Mountain Lake got a complete-game victory from Adam Schroeder, who gave up just five hits and an unearned run, striking out six in the win.

In Sunday's win against the Horned Frogs, Beau Buysse connected on four hits, driving home a pair of runs for the Mudhens. Myhre also had a pair of hits, and Matt Musser got the win on the mound with seven strikeouts in six innings for Minneota.

The Mudhens (12-9 overall) head to Marshall on Wednesday.

Luverne 8, Tracy 4

In Gopher League play Sunday, the Tracy Express fell to 2-13 in league play, 6-17 overall ini an 8-4 loss to Luverne in Tracy.

Brian Beuning went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored for the Redbirds, while Phil Paquette had two hits and an RBI in the victory.

For the Express, Jason Minett was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Robbie Slinkman added two hits, including a double, and an RBI.

Tracy returns to Gopher League action Wednesday, hosting Hadley in Milroy.

Hadley 3, Adrian 1

Hadley pitcher Zach Bruns struck out four and held Adrian just four hits, helping the Buttermakers to a 3-1 Gopher League victory Sunday in Hadley.

Joe Larson paced Hadley's offense with a hit and two RBIs. Sean Solheim, Max Zwart and Jamie Boelter each had a base hit for the Buttermakers, who move to 8-7 in the Gopher League, 9-11 overall.

Hadley resumes league play Tuesday at Windom.
