Hits were scarce between Minneota and Prinsburg in American Legion baseball Monday night in Minneota. The two squads combined for six singles in the seven-inning game.
Despite the rarity of hits, Cal Swedzinski's fifth-inning single drove in Lee Bot to give Minneota a one-run lead. It was the game's only run, and the only run Minneota needed.
Swedzinski saw to that as well, as he pitched seven scoreless innings for Minneota, allowing two hits and striking out four.
Tyler Daugherty tried to match Swedzinski pitch-for-pitch, but came up just short. Daugherty allowed one run on four hits over his six innings of work. He also walked two and struck out six.
The win moves Minneota Legion to 4-3 on the season. Minneota returns to action Thursday when it travels to Montevideo for its last regular season game of the year.
