The Marshall Blue VFW baseball team fell to Brookings (S.D.) 13-9 on Wednesday, committing five errors in the loss.
Marshall took a 2-0 lead after the first inning, but Brookings scored six in the second to take the lead for good.
Nolan Schaeffer was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI for Blue, while Bryce Johnson was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
Matt Facile was also 2-for-4 with a double and he drove in one run, while Alex Marks had two RBI in the loss.
Marshall (16-9) earned the second seed in the District 3 tournament and will play the winner of the Marshall Orange and Slayton game next Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Legion Field.
