MARSHALL - Dennis William Mitchell, 53, of Garvin, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court July 10 to charges of third degree driving while impaired, court records said. Mitchell drove while impaired in Lyon County on Jan. 18, court records said. Mitchell was sentenced to one year in jail with 350 days stayed, to pay a $600 fine, and two years probation with conditions including serve 15 days in jail with credit for one day served, abstain from alcohol and drugs and abide by laws. Additional charges of third degree driving while impaired were dismissed.

MARSHALL - Brandon Michael Hallberg, 23, of Sioux Falls, S.D., appeared in Lyon County District Court July 10 on charges of refusal to submit to a chemical test and driving after revocation. A complaint alleges Hallberg refused to take a chemical test in Marshall on April 21, and had a prior DWI conviction in 2011. The court found probable cause for the charges, and a hearing was set for July 24.

MARSHALL - Alan Dayton Bell, 37, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court July 10 on charges of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and stop sign violation. A complaint alleges Bell fled a peace officer in Marshall on May 15. The court found probable cause for the charges, and a hearing was set for Aug. 7.

MARSHALL - Eric John Barck, 41, of Marshall pleaded innocent in Lyon County District Court July 10 to charges of second degree assault and terroristic threats, court records said. A complaint alleges Barck threatened a man with a knife in Marshall on June 15. The court found probable cause for the charges, and Barck entered a not guilty plea and requested a speedy trial. A jury trial was set for Aug. 30-31, and a pretrial hearing was set for Aug. 21.

MARSHALL - Chance Wesley Adams, 20, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court July 10 on charges of second degree burglary and theft of a firearm - liability for crimes of another. A complaint alleges Adams or an accomplice entered a residence in Cottonwood and stole items including a shotgun on Nov. 14, 2011. The court found probable cause for the charges. A hearing was set for July 24.

MARSHALL - Walter Hampton, Jr., 44, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court July 10 on charges of domestic assault and disorderly conduct. A complaint alleges Hampton assaulted a woman in Lyon County on May 29. The court found probable cause for the charges. A hearing was set for Aug. 21.

MARSHALL - Jeremy Jans Kor, 34, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court July 10 on charges of driving after cancellation - inimical to public safety. A complaint alleges Kor drove with a cancelled license in Marshall on June 12. A hearing was set for Aug. 7.
