MARSHALL - Representatives of Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center and Affiliated Community Medical Centers announced Friday they have settled a civil lawsuit regarding the lease agreement for ACMC's Bruce Street clinic space.
A joint news release said both parties in the lawsuit have approved a settlement agreement and have jointly asked a Lyon County District Court judge to dismiss the matter.
Avera Marshall had filed a civil complaint regarding the lease in March. At issue was a dispute over when ACMC's lease for clinic space was up, and whether the lease agreement could be renewed.
Friday's joint news release said as a result of the settlement, ACMC will continue to lease space in the Bruce Street location until it can move into a new medical clinic being built on Carlson Street in Marshall.
Construction is expected to finish this winter or spring.
After ACMC has moved out of the Bruce Street clinic, Avera Marshall plans to renovate the space for its own operations, the release said. Attorneys for both ACMC and Avera Marshall said Friday that the parties agreed to keep further terms of the settlement confidential.
The lease lawsuit was separate case from a lawsuit brought against Avera Marshall on behalf of its medical staff in January.
That suit is still under consideration by a judge.
