Long Sox need extras to take down New Ulm Brewers

Donald Strand's RBI single in the top of the 12th inning broke a 1-1 tie between the Lamberton Long Sox and New Ulm Brewers Wednesday in New Ulm. Johnny Pistulka added a two RBI single to help give Lamberton a 4-1 win.

Strand and Pistulka both finished 2-for-5, with Strand scoring twice and Pistulka picking up two RBIs. Isaac Jenniges also finished 2-for-5 for the Long Sox.

New Ulm tied the game at 1 in the bottom of the eighth off of Lamberton starter John Jenniges. Jenniges, a draftee from Redwood, pitched through the 11th inning and picked up the win for the Long Sox. Shane Schoborg earned the save.

Lamberton moved to 4-0 in the Region 2C playoffs after the win and secured the No. 1 seed in the region. The Long Sox play their final Region 2C game in Lamberton on Friday at 8 p.m. against Searles.
