Marshall Golf Club will be bustling Monday afternoon as golfers take to the course for the MGC-Ameriprise Financial Senior's Golf Tournament.
Individuals 50 and older will be divided into four flights, with the top three finishers in both gross and net categories of each flight receiving prizes. Women and men will be golfing in the same flights, with the flights being determined by handicap.
The tournament has had more than 100 participants in recent years and Tom van der Hagen, a founding member of van der Hagen, Skogrand, and Associates who has been involved with the tournament for more than 10 years, said he expects a similar turnout this year.
"The thing has really grown," van der Hagen said. "We took over the tournament here a while back as a senior tournament and we've grown into one of the largest golf events in the club right now.
"It's a nice way to get more people to get into town and see the course and recognize we have a nice location."
MGC PGA Professional Ken Bramhall said the club is still accepting registration through Sunday and that the maximum number of entrants will be around 100 golfers.
The tournament begins at 12:30 p.m. Monday with a shotgun start.
