MARSHALL - Services for Clifton "Cliff/Cliffie" Cundy, 68, of Marshall, with full military honors will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Paul's Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Walnut Grove. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home.
He died Monday, Aug, 20, 2012, at Avera Regional Medical Center in Marshall.
Clifton "Cliffie" John Cundy was born Aug. 1, 1944, in Mitchell, S.D., to Edwin and Florence (Herron) Cundy. He attended Mitchell schools and then entered the U.S. Navy. He was stationed in California, served in Vietnam and honorably discharged. Throughout his life, he worked for Chicago Northwestern Railroad, Electrolux and Viessman Trucking. Cliff enjoyed golfing, karaoke, Nascar racing, flea markets and socializing with family and friends.
Grateful to have shared his life was his wife, Kay (Rys) Cundy of Marshall; two daughters, Candy (and Bill) Weinreis and Crystal (and Arturo) Garcia, all of Huron, S.D.; six grandchildren, Lavin, Drew and Jessalyn Weinreis of Huron, S.D., and Kevin, Cory and Tonya Swedal, of Alexandria; four great-grandchildren, Anahi, Tyson, Braxton, Armani, of Alexandria; brother, Larry (and Terri) Cundy, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bruce; sister, Brenda Dawson; half-brother, Eugene; half-sister, Lucille Mamphier; and grandson, Derek Weinreis.
