EDEN PRAIRIE - A memorial gathering for Louise (Griensewic) Schurle, 56, of Eden Prairie will be from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Albin Chapel, 6855 Rowland Road, Eden Prairie.

She died peacefully at home Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, after a battle with cancer.

Louise was born Feb. 10, 1956, to Elda (Geske) and Charles Griensewic. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Evangelical Church in Balaton. She graduated from Balaton High School and received a registered nurse degree at Sioux Valley School of Nursing, Sioux Falls, S.D. She worked in hospitals in South Dakota and Kansas.

Louise and Dr. Dale Schurle were married Feb. 14, 1981, in Wichita, Kan. She worked with her husband for four years in his medical practice. They later moved back to Minnesota. Louise was a dedicated wife and mother. She spent many weekends attending her children's sporting events and volunteering. She loved cooking, gardening, crafts and being with her family. Her home was filled with love and laughter She had a wonderful laugh and a great joy for practical jokes. The holidays were decked out with decorations and she could have opened a catering business because her food was so beautiful and delicious. She had fun get-togethers with her Balaton friends, close friends Judy and Deb, and neighbors. Louise was a kind, giving, and loving person.

Survivors include her loving husband of 31 1/2 years, Dale; children Adam (and Rebekah), Jillian and Britta; sisters Mary Chesley of Luverne, Lenore (and Howard) Cadwell of Massachusetts and Jane (and Ken) Sovell of Marshall; brothers Charles Griensewic of Balaton and Max (and Virjean) Griensewic of Mankato; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Byron Griensewic, sister Vera Murray.

Louise will be terribly missed by her family and friends. I will love you forever Louise.
