No. 3 Vikings sweep seventh-ranked B-B-E

With a sweep of Class A No. 7 Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, the third-ranked Minneota Vikings volleyball team extended its win streak to eight.

The Vikings dominated the match Monday night, played at a neutral site, on the campus of Ridgewater College in Willmar, 25-11, 25-22 and 25-11.

Outside hitter Molly Hennen led Minneota to victory, going16-for-16 serving with two aces. Her 11 kills also paced the Vikings and her 10 digs were second best on the team.

Minneota (14-2 overall) further benefitted from the play of setter Megan Larson and outside hitter Shelby Corbin. Larson had 25 set assists in the match, and also was 11 of 11 serving with two aces and had two ace blocks. Corbin also had two aces, on 12 of 14 serving, while leading the team with 15 digs.

The Vikings, who dominated the Jaguars at the net defensively with nine ace blocks total, will look to extend their winning streak and remain unbeaten in the Camden Conference as they travel to Cottonwood tonight for a matchup with the Lakeview Lakers.
