Narrowly avoiding being swept at home, the Murray County Central volleyball ultimately fell to the Pipestone Arrows in four sets Monday night in Slayton, 25-21, 25-20, 23-25 and 25-18.
The Rebels (2-3 overall, 2-0 Red Rock Conference) never got their offense rolling on against the Arrows. Kristi Bose led the team with 11 kills, and Paris Thomas had a team-high seven set assists.
MCC did have solid defensive stats, despite the loss. The team combined for 80 digs in the match, led by Bose's 22 and Hannah Schmidt's 20. The Rebels also had five total ace blocks, with outside hitter Lindsey Barritt leading the way with a pair.
The Rebels are back in action tonight as they look to remain unbeaten in the Red Rock Conference in a road test against Fulda.
