Lawrence "Lornie" Therodore Verkinderen was born May 19, 1943, to Maurice and Bertha (DeVos) Verkinderen on the home farm in rural Minneota. He began his love of farming as a young boy and it became his career choice.

He was united in marriage to Barbara Aune on Jan. 15, 1966, in Minneota. He had a love of all things John Deere. He preferred his vehicles be Fords. He worked and played hard, with lots of socializing, dancing, and some travel too. He was proud of his Belgian heritage and traveled two times to see his aunts, uncles and cousins in Belgium. When relaxing he enjoyed his TVespecially Western movies. Lawrence enjoyed farming and cherished every moment with his family. He always loved giving his grandkids rides in his golf cart to see the farm animals and tractors.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Barbara, who shared his life for 46 years; sons Blayne of Minneota and Bryce of Ghent; daughters Brianna (and Joe) St. Aubin of Wahpeton, N.D., and Brooke (and Seth) Verkinderen-Hilmoe of Sioux Falls, S.D.; eight grandchildren, Danica, Brandon, Alex Verkinderen, Braylyn, Carter, Brenley St. Aubin, Holden, Loften Hilmoe; and great-granddaughter Brielle Verkinderen; brother Donald (and Betty) of Marshall; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, two aunts living in Belgium and many other relatives.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; and infant brother, Jules; and infant granddaughter, Mariah Verkinderen.

Blessed be the memory of Lawrence Verkinderen.
