C/M/L cross country teams take 5th in Willmar

The Canby/Minneota/Lincoln HI boys' and girls' cross country teams each finished in fifth place at a cross country invite in Willmar Saturday.

Nick Stoks crossed the finish line with the fourth-fastest time at 17 minutes, 1.7 seconds to lead the C/M/L boys. Teammate McKinley Johansen cracked the top 25 with a time of 18:22.4.

Moorhead won the boys' team title with 48 points, followed by Fargo North (69), West Fargo (72) and Willmar (77). The Lancers had a team score of 164 in the 11-team event.

Amanda Grengs and Leah Jessen finished 12th and 14th, respectively, to pace the C/M/L girls. Grengs had a time of 15:58.0, while Jessen crossed the line two seconds later. Natalie Dinius was the third-fasted Lancer with her time of 16:24.5, which put her in 22nd place overall.

Bismarck Century won the 12-team meet with a score of 46. Moorhead was second (57), Willmar took third (75), West Fargo was fourth (127) and C/M/L was fifth (137).
