Minneota 3, Dawson-Boyd 0

Perfect in Camden Conference play in the regular season, the Minneota Vikings maintained their dominance in the conference on Monday with a sweep of Dawson-Boyd in the Camden Conference championship match. Third-ranked Minneota won the match 25-15, 25-17, 25-19 to defend their title.

Minneota middle hitter Taylor Reiss was 19-for-19 serving with two aces, while also tallying a team-high 14 kills, 11 digs and two ace blocks.

Megan Larson had 36 set assists for the Vikings, while Molly Hennen had a match-high 19 digs.

Mari Lee had 11 kills and two ace blocks for the Blackjacks (19-6 overall) in the losing effort. Kylie Schuelke added 18 digs in Dawson-Boyd's final match of the regular season.

Minneota (24-3) wraps up its regular season Thursday with a home match against Windom.

The Wabasso Rabbits finished their regular season with a 25-22, 25-20, 25-19 win over Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Monday in a non-conference match played in Tyler.

Jamie Goblirsch had 25 digs to lead the Rabbits defensively. Chelsey Guetter, Desi Kramer and Kimberly Frank each had seven kills, while Kramer added 18 digs and Frank had 17 set assists.

The Knights (15-12 overall) got a solid night from Janel Wichern, who had eight kills, 18 digs and was 13 of 13 serving with an ace.

RTR wraps up its regular season tonight with a road match against Edgerton.

The Rabbits (18-6) open up Section 3A-North tournament play Monday at home against E.C.H.O. Charter.

The Westbrook-Walnut Grove volleyball team clinched second place in the Red Rock Central Conference standings with a five-set victory over Murray County Central Monday in Westbrook. The Chargers, who lost to the Rebels Saturday in the Subway Classic in Marshall, won Tuesday's match 23-25, 25-19, 25-20, 20-25, 15-12.

Abby Herding was 26-for-26 serving with three aces for the Chargers. She also had 17 digs and 41 set assists.

Dayna Comnick led the WWG attack with 19 kills, and Paige Erickson had 18 kills and a team-high 21 digs.

Kristi Bose had a strong night for the Rebels in the losing effort. She had five ace serves, 22 kills, 40 digs and four ace blocks.

RRC finishes the regular season with a 22-6 overall record and a 9-1 mark in Red Rock Conference play. MCC finishes 10-8 overall and 7-3 in the conference.

Getting stronger as the match went on, the Red Rock Central volleyball team closed out its regular season with a 26-24, 25-14, 25-8 Red Rock Conference victory over Mountain Lake Area Monday in Mountain Lake.

Brooke Rasmussen had a team-high 16 digs for the Falcons, and also had a strong serving night, going 10-for-10 with two aces.

Chloe Arfsten and Cassandra Erickson each had 10 kills for RRC, and Fern Engen tallied eight kills and three block assists.

The Falcons (12-12 overall, 6-4 Red Rock) are now off until next Monday when they begin play in the 3A-South tournament. RRC is seeded seventh in the sub-section and will host No. 11 seed Ellsworth at 7 p.m. in Jeffers.

Lancers lead the way at Camden Conference meet

The Canby/Minneota/Lincoln HI boys' and girls' cross country teams each took first place at Monday's Camden Conference Championships at Canby Golf Course.

The Lancers led the way among a small contingent of Camden racers. The C/M/L boys finished first out of four teams with 23 points. MACCRAY/Renville County West was second (70 points), followed by Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (70) and Willmar Community Christian (74).

C/M/L's Nick Stoks paced the pack with a time of 16 minutes, 36.3 seconds. Teammates Wyatt Johansen, McKinley Johansen, Josue Leos and Joseph Bach finished fourth through seventh, respectively.

TMB was led by Matt Lavoy, who placed third overall with his time of 18:00.2.

The girls' competition was smaller than the boys, with just two full teams. C/M/L had the top five runners and won with 15 points. TMB was second with 47 points.

Amanda Grengs had the top time in the girls' race at 16:04.7. Her Lancer teammate, Leah Jessen, was second with a time of 16:15.1. C/M/L's Natalie Dinius, Sydney Sisk and Heidi Pavek all finished below the 17-minute mark and finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively.

TMB's top finisher was Elodie Tholen, who was sixth with her time of 17:11.9.

MCC?boys win Red Rock Conference meet

The Murray County Central boys' cross country team took first place at the Red Rock Conference meet in Slayton on Monday, while the MCC girls placed third.

The Rebel boys edged out Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin by six points to claim the conference title, despite MLBO having the top two individual finishers.

Andy Garza took third overall with a time of 19 minutes, one second to pace the Rebels. Aaron Boock was fourth overall and second for MCC with a time of 19:36.

Kyle Blomgren took medalist honors with a time of 18:50 for MLBO.

In the girls race, MCC took third of three full teams with 62 points. Adrian won the conference title with 28 points and had four of the top five finishers. MLBO took second with 38 points.

Melissa Gehl was the first Rebel to finish her four kilometers, completed the course in a time of 17:14. Jordin Kopplow from Adrian had the fastest time on the day at 15:25.
