Ehlers inducted into Concordia College Athletic Hall of Fame

Kari Ehlers, an elementary school teacher in Marshall and an assistant coach for the Marshall High School boys' and girls' golf teams, was one of four inductees into the Concordia College Athletic Hall of Fame last Saturday during the school's homecoming celebration in Moorhead.

Ehlers, formerly Kari Walrath, was a two-time All-American women's golfer for the Cobbers. The 1996 Concordia graduate earned Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors in four consecutive years and consistently placed in the top five in all MIAC tournaments during her athletic career.

Ehlers, a graduate of Watertown High School (S.D.) was a key member of the Cobber women's golf team that finished third at the NCAA National Tournament in 1995 when both Division II and Division III athletes competed together.

Ehlers and her husband, former Cobber golfer Charlie Ehlers, won the Minnesota Golf Association Four-Ball Couples Championship in 2000 and 2002.

Top-ranked SMSU?volleyball team to host 'Red Out' Friday against Mary

The No. 1-ranked Southwest Minnesota State volleyball team will take on the University of Mary on Friday for the team's second annual "Red Out" match at the PE Gym at SMSU.

The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free "Red Out"?t-shirt promoting heart disease awareness. The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
