WESTBROOK - Services for Harold B. Lohre, 85, of Westbrook will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Visitation is from 5-7:30 p.m. Friday at the Westbrook Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial is in Westbrook Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service - Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
He died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 29, 1926, on the family farm in rural Storden to Eddie and Elvina (Nelson) Lohre. He joined the U.S. Navy on Dec. 24, 1944. He trained to be a Signalman and served in the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged on June 3, 1946.
Survivors include his wife Jean; children Carma Nordahl of Sheldon, Iowa, and Todd Lohre of St. Paul; three grandchildren; and siblings Lucille Christensen of Lamberton, Leonard Lohre of Lamberton, Zola Wood of Windom, Darlene Arfsten of Storden, Muriel Link of Windom, Joann Shaw of Dovray, Evelyn Lohre of Windom; and Lee Lohre of Augusta, Ga.
