Election Day Dinner Nov. 6 in Russell
The 117th annual Election Day Dinner will be from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Grace First Parish in Russell. The menu includes turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, beets and desserts, including pie. The cost for adults is $8.50, children 5-10, $3.50 and children ages 4 and younger can eat for free. Carryout is available. A country store will be available also.
Pro-life pancake breakfast Sunday at Carlin Hall
A pro-life pancake and sausage breakfast will take place from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday at Carlin Hall, Holy Redeemer Church basement, Marshall. The breakfast is sponsored by Birthright of Marshall. Everyone is welcome. A freewill offering will be accepted.
Holy Redeemer CCW general meeting Monday
The Holy Redeemer Council of Catholic Women meeting will be Monday. The parish Mass is at 5:30 p.m., followed by a light meal in Carlin Hall at 6 p.m.
Leah DeLanghe, Southwest Minnesota State University campus minister, and Amanda Castro, faith formation coordinator/youth minister, will present their programs at 6:30 p.m. in Carlin Hall. All men, youth and women are invited to hear them speak. The CCW general meeting will follow the presentations.
'Trunk' or Treat Oct. 31 at St. Stephen Lutheran
St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Marshall invites the community to a new event, "Trunk or Treat," on Halloween, Wednesday, Oct. 31. Visit the church parking lot, 1301 S. 4th St., anytime between 5:45-7 p.m. Several vehicles will be decorated for Halloween at one end of the parking lot, and confirmation students will hand out candy from each trunk. Children are encouraged to come in costume, as well as parents. Bring a non-perishable item for the food shelf as a donation to be collected as you enter the parking lot. Trunk or Treating Oct. 31 at Wesley parking lot
All are invited to the new Wesley United Methodist Church parking lot (behind the church off of 4th street) for Halloween Trunk or Treating starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31. There will be a bonfire for s'mores as well as games and activities.
