The Augustana women's soccer team snapped an 11-game winless streak with a 2-0 win over Southwest Minnesota State Friday night in the home finale for the Mustangs.
Augustana started the scoring in the 33rd minute when Sierra Erickson got a kick past SMSU goalkeeper Kristy Leopold for her first goal of the season.
The Vikings (5-10-2 overall, 4-8-2 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) then opened the second half strong with a goal in the 49th minute by Makenzie Trom.
Leopold finished with 12 saves in her first start for the Mustangs, who drop to 7-8-1 overall and 5-8-1 in conference action.
SMSU ends its season Sunday at Wayne State.
