Renneke, Behrends, Sherlin win Yellow Medicine County Commission seats

Yellow Medicine County's District 1 incumbent County Commissioner Greg Renneke handily won re-election to the county board with 626 votes, 61 percent of the total cast. Challenger Joe Rohlik polled 399 for 39 percent of votes cast. John Behrends won the special election to fill the District 2 seat on the Yellow Medicine County commission left vacant by the death of Commissioner Dick Wambeke. Behrends won with 517 votes, 52 percent of the total, to opponent Mitch Brovold's 471, or 47 percent. Behrends will serve out the remaining two years of Wambeke's term.
