NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ORDINANCE AMENDING
CHAPTER 2 OF THE CITY CHARTER
OF THE CITY OF MARSHALL MINNESOTA
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Public Hearing will be held on the amendment of the following section(s) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Marshall:
Section 1: The following sections of the city Charter of the City of Marshall Minnesota, are hereby amended to read in their entirety as follows:
Section 2.03. - Elective offices.
Subd. 1. Mayor.
Qualification. Mayor must be, at the date of filing for office and during his/her term, a qualified elector of the City of Marshall and shall be elected at large.
Mayor's Term. The Mayor shall serve for a period of four years and until their successor is elected and qualified. The term shall begin on the first regular meeting in January after the municipal election.
Subd. 2. Councilmembers.
Qualifications. Councilmembers must, at date of filing for office and during their term, be a qualified elector of the ward of the City of Marshall for which they seek office or hold office.
Number. Two councilmembers shall be elected from each ward.
Councilmembers Term. All councilmembers elected shall serve for a period of four years and until their successor is elected and qualified. The term shall begin on the first regular meeting in January after the municipal election.
The Public Hearing will be held before the Marshall City Council in the Professional Development Room of the Marshall Middle School located at 401 South Saratoga Street in Marshall, Minnesota at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012.
