To the editor:
The nurses at Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center have always been proud of the nursing care they provided at our hospital. After many months of negotiations we fear that our pride in giving excellent patient care will be severely challenged if our administration continues to put profits over patient care.
We want to raise a red flag that nurses at Avera Marshall wish to see our administration focus their efforts on providing quality care to the community by negotiating a fair contract for the nurses.
A fair contract means there will be safe and adequate staffing, a respectful workplace and quality care for the Marshall community.
We urge you to contact the hospital and voice your concern about the disturbing trend to put profits over patient care.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
