WOOD?LAKE?- Services for Martin Schmidt, 95, of Wood Lake will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in rural Wood Lake. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the church, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery. The Sunset Funeral and Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso is handling the arrangements for the family.
He died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the Granite Manor in Granite Falls.
He was born April 12, 1917, in Posen Township, Yellow Medicine County, to Philip and Amelia (Frank) Schmidt.
Survivors include his children, Daniel of Wood Lake, Berwyn of Howard Lake, and Nadine Rozikes of St. Paul; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leroy of Wood Lake, Ordean of Glenwood, Edgar of Danbury, Wis., Loren of Springfield, Philip of Wood Lake and sister, Joanne Willhite of Woodbury.
