Lancers go 4-0 in Watertown (S.D.)
Behind 4-0 weekends from four different wrestlers, the Canby Lancers too went 4-0 in Watertown (S.D.) on Saturday.
The Lancers demolished three of their four opponents, dismantling Milbank (S.D.) 56-18 before a 66-6 thrashing of Sioux Falls O'Gorman. Canby also made light work of Sisseton (S.D.) in a 54-24 victory.
Only Sioux Falls Roosevelt was able to hang with the Lancers, with Canby escaping with a 30-29 win.
Quentin Beiningen used two pins and two forfeits to compile a 4-0 record on the weekend, while Christian Full also had a pair of pins and pair of forfeit victories for the Lancers.
Brock Nothem had just one pin and one forfeit during his 4-0 weekend, but he also had two wins by decision. Austin Campbell reached 4-0 with a pair of pins, a forfeit, and a win by decision.
The Lancers (7-2 overall) will be back on the mat on Friday when they travel to Redwood Falls for the Redwood Valley invitational.

United wrestling team finishes 5th at Grant County Tournament
The Dawson-Boyd/Lac qui Parle Valley wrestling team finished fifth in the Grant County Wrestling Tournament, hosted by West Central Area High School Saturday in Barrett.
Fergus Falls won the 12-team tournament with a score of 206.5. New York Mills placed second (165 points), followed by Alexandria (152), Morris Area (151.5) and D-B/LQPV (127).
Jake Lehmann was the only individual champion for D-B/LQPV on the day. The junior went 3-0 to win the 285-pound title.
The United had two second-place finishers in Kasey Willander (160 pounds) and Jordan Staab (195), and Joe Weeding took third at 170.

Minneota takes 2nd at St. James Classic
The Minneota wrestling team took second place as a team at Saturday's St. James Area Classic.
The Vikings finished with 184 points, just three points less than champion Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial. St. James Area came in third with 176 points in the six-team event.
Minneota had four individual champions on the day, including Bryce Bruner (132 pounds), Nicholas Esping (145), Cole Hennen (152) and Isaac Josephson (182).
