The Lincoln County Board welcomed a new commissioner at its first meeting of the year on Tuesday. Rick Hamer is replacing Commissioner Adam Gillund, who did not run for another term.
Hamer is a former mayor of Hendricks.
The board authorized the purchase of a Dodge Ram crew cab pickup truck for the sheriff's department at a cost of $24,800.
The board was informed County Environmental Administrator Robert Olsen had been appointed to the state Aquatic Invasive Species Advisory Committee. Olsen's department has been involved for several years in controlling curly leaf pondweed, an invasive species that has infested Lake Benton but is not considered under control.
