Canby 62, Dawson-Boyd 59

Nate Stafki had just three points for the Canby Lancers on Thursday night, but they were an important three as Stafki sunk a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Lancers over the sixth-ranked Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks 62-59 in Dawson.

Stafki also had five assists and two steals for the Lancers, who erased a five-point halftime deficit. Cole Brusven knocked down five 3s on his way to a team-high 17 points, while Michael Slaba (14 points) and Zach Nuy (10) were the other Lancers in double figures.

The Blackjacks, meanwhile, saw all but six of their points come from three players. Michael Lee led the way with a game-high 21 points, while adding eight rebounds. Joey Lee also had eight boards to accompany his 19 points, while Nathaniel Huot had 13 points and three of the Blackjacks' seven assists.

The loss snaps an eight game winning streak for the Blackjacks, who fall to 9-2 overall and 6-1 in the Camden Conference. Canby, meanwhile, improves to 8-2 on the year (4-2 Camden).

The Lancers are back in action Saturday as they host Southwest United, while the Blackjacks are back on the court tonight to host the Hancock Owls.

Minneota 59, Lakeview 54

Jonah Dovre scored a game-high 17 points, but the Lakeview boys' basketball team was defeated 59-54 by the Minneota Vikings in Minneota on Thursday.

Four Vikings reached double digits scoring in the win, led by Grant Hennen's 15 points. Hennen also had seven rebounds. Dan Harrison had a strong night with 12 points, eight boards and five assists. Dylan Tolk also scored 12, while adding four assists and seven steals. Austin Buysse had 14 points for the Vikings.

Minneota (8-4 overall, 3-2 Camden Conference) has won five straight games and will put its winning streak on the line again Saturday as the Vikings host Fulda. Lakeview (6-8, 2-5) is back on the court on Tuesday, when the Lakers host Lincoln HI in Cottonwood.

TMB 72, RCW 34

With 13 players recording points on Thursday, the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton boys' basketball team rolled past Renville County West 72-34.

The win on their home court in Tracy was just the second in the Camden Conference for the Panthers (4-6 overall, 2-3 Camden), who were led by Parker Lanoue's 16 points. Jordan Lanoue also had 13 points in the win.

RCW saw just five players score, while Mitch Treml and Ian Engstrom combined for 23 of their team's points. Treml led the way with 12.

Next up for TMB is a non-conference road trip to Jackson County Central tonight to face the Huskies.

Lincoln HI 67, KMS 24

Jordan Beck scored a game-high 21 points as the Lincoln HI boys' basketball team steamrolled Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 67-24 Thursday night in Ivanhoe.

The Rebels (3-7 overall, 1-5 Camden Conference) led the game 35-9 at halftime.

Beck added six rebounds and five steals to his 21 points. Ryan Rybinski chipped in 12 points, and Jeff Gladis had 11 points, four assists and five steals.

Only three players scored for KMS. Jacob Zvorak led the way with 14 points to go with his four blocks.

The Rebels get back on the court Tuesday when they face Lakeview in Cottonwood.

Neil Eichten had another strong scoring night for Wabasso as the Rabbit boys' basketball team took down Sleepy Eye 56-46 Thursday night in a Tomahawk Conference game isn Wabasso.

Seth Guetter added 14 points, five assists and two blocks for Wabasso, which moves to 6-6 overall and 4-2 in conference action. Matt Zeug had 12 of his team's 32 rebounds, and Tanner Bock pulled down 11 boards.

Sleepy Eye's Brandon Polesky scored 19 in the losing effort.

Wabasso has a non-conference game Saturday at home against Red Rock Central.

Fourth-ranked Southwest Minnesota Christian had four players score in double figures in an 82-47 blowout win over Westbrook-Walnut Grove Thursday in a Red Rock Conference game in Westbrook.

Senior guard Klint Knutson paced the Eagles with 15 points, and junior center Leighton Sampson scored 14. Dominic Nibbelink hit three 3-pointers for 13 points, and Nate Pfeifle also scored 13.

WWG got a game-high 21 points from Taylor Lindaman in the loss. Alex Knutson added 11 points, and no other Charger scored more than four points.

The Chargers (3-7 overall) will try to bounce back Monday when they play host to Sleepy Eye.

Yellow Medicine East's Chyanne Sand had a huge 16 points and 16 rebounds, but the Sting fell well short to Melrose Area in a 51-31 loss Thursday night in Granite Falls.

Melrose Area got 11 points from Torri Reller and Emily Goerdt, and Shelby Uphoff added 10 points.

The Sting (1-10 overall) hit the road Tuesday for a game against Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta.

Bobcats go 2-0 at home triangular

Fourth-ranked (Class A) Wabasso/Red Rock Central had no problem getting a pair of wins in a home triangular Thursday as the Bobcats blew by Fulda/Murray County Central 51-15 and crushed the River Valley Wildcats 49-6.

The Bobcats got seven pins in their dominant win over Fulda/MCC, and won four of their matches by forfeit against a shorthanded River Valley squad.

The Bobcats are back on the mat Saturday when they host Adrian, Canby and Zumbrota-Mazeppa in Wabasso.
