Howard Hart

Howard was born Aug. 19, 1922, to John and Emma (Leeseberg) Hart in Deer Creek. When he was about a year and a half, the family moved to Littlefork.

Howard attended the Littlefork Public School where he met Edna Marie Holub. They were married May 24, 1942, at the Baptist Church in Littlefork. Howie and Edna spent many hours in their camper and in a fishing boat bringing in the BIG one! Howard's main hobby other than fishing, was working with wood. He enjoyed making things for both children and adults. Over the years Howard has constructed many special order items for his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or whoever asked for something special. The family saying has always been, "Just ask Grandpa, he can make or fix anything."

Howard and Edna spent their married years in Minnesota at Blackduck, Luverne, Littlefork, Tracy, Minneota and Silver Bay. In 2001, they moved to 1325 Central Road in Littlefork. After Howard's heart attack in 2005 they moved into the Jackpine Chateau Assisted Living, where he continued living after the death of his wife, Edna in 2011.

Howard is survived by four children: Ronald (and Joyce) Hart, Finland, Minn., Joyce (and Wayne) Greeley, Marshall, Judy Rae (and David) Rokeh, Littlefork and Gary (and Jean) Hart, Cold Spring; one daughter-in-law, Lori Hart, Elkton, S.D.; 17 grandchildren including Darin Greeley of Amiret, Jason (and Amber) Greeley of Marshall; 29 great-grandchildren including Holden, Chase and Sage Greeley of Marshall; and 12 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ziemba, Littlefork, Faye Thompson, Eyota, Inez Hart, International Falls; one brother-in-law, Harvey (and Gerry) Holub, Spring Valley, Ill., and many nieces and nephews.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emma Hart; wife, Edna (2011), son Dennis Hart (1997), granddaughter Taryn (Hart) Meller (2001), and great-great-granddaughter Emma Lundberg (2009).
