Wabasso girls beat Fulda, move on to 3A-South finals

Chelsey Guetter scored a game-high 23 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had four steals as the Wabasso Rabbits took down Fulda 67-47 Tuesday night in the semifinals of the Section 3A-South tournament in Worthington.

The top-seeded Rabbits, who led 33-26 at the half, forced the fourth-seeded Raiders into 35 turnovers en route to the win. They played the second half without starting senior guard Kimberly Frank, who left with an ankle injury in the first half after scoring seven points.

Wabasso (25-2 overall) moves on to face No. 2 seed Southwest Minnesota Christian (22-4) at 6 p.m. Friday at Southwest Minnesota State University for the sub-section championship. SWC defeated Adrian 65-59 Tuesday in Worthington.

Larissa Rohlik added 13 points for the Rabbits in their win over Fulda, connecting on four of her team's five 3-pointers. Desi Kramer also had a strong night, posting a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

Fulda was led by Brittney Hermeling, who drilled five 3-pointers and scored 17 points. Sariah Cheadle added 12 points, and Melissa Gehl tallied 10.
