TMB eliminated in 3AA-North

Montevideo snapped a nine-game losing streak and kept its season alive by defeating Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 73-62 Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Section 3AA-North boys' basketball tournament in Montevideo.

Third-seeded Montevideo (10-14 overall) hit 10 3-pointers in the game and advances to face No. 2 seed Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Granite Falls. TMB ends its year with a 7-18 record.

Troy Diggins and Jordan Thompson both had big games for the Thunder Hawks, scoring 22 and 21 points, respectively.

In his final game as a Panther, senior guard Parker Lanoue hit six 3-pointers and scored a game-high 26 points to go with six rebounds and four assists. Freshman forward Josh Kirk added 10 points and 11 rebounds, and fellow freshman Brett Swenhaugen added 11 points.
