Fresh off their third-place finish at the Class AAA boys' basketball state tournament, the Marshall Tigers received more accolades Monday as the Southwest Conference released its all-conference teams for the 2012-13 season.
Marshall, which finished the conference season with a perfect 12-0 record, had three all-conference honorees and one All-SWC honorable mention. Junior guard Riley Sharbono, who earned Class AAA All-Tournament Team honors over the weekend, was named to the SWC all-conference team, as was senior guard Austin Saugstad.
Hunter Peterson, a senior guard for the Tigers, was named to the honorable mention team.
In its ninth state tournament appearance in program history, Marshall picked up its first state tournament win since 1970 by beating Grand Rapids last Wednesday. The Tigers fell to then-unbeaten Austin in overtime in Thursday's semifinal before defeating St. Paul Johnson in Saturday's third-place game. Marshall finished the season with a 29-3 overall record.
