Mustang Hoofprints: April 4

April 4, 2013
By Chris Hmielewski , Southwest Minnesota State University

Hello Mustang fans!

The Mustang Booster Club will be starting its 2013-14 membership drive in May. The number one priority of the Mustang Booster Club is to raise athletic scholarship dollars for SMSU Athletics. The membership drive is the fundraising event that generates the most revenue for the booster club. If you are interested in participating on one of our membership drive teams, please contact Tim Steinbach in the SMSU Department of Athletics at 537-7204.

Shortly after the membership drive the booster club will host the David and Carol Drown SMSU Golf Classic which will be held this year on Friday, June 14, at the Marshall Golf Club and Saturday, June 15, at the Tyler Golf Club. Please mark your calendars for what has grown into a two-day event.

This Week in Mustang Athletics

The SMSU baseball team (6-12-1 overall, 1-3 NSIC) will play six Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games this week with the potential of all six being held at a neutral site. SMSU will play Winona State (8-8, 2-0) on Thursday with the doubleheader beginning at noon. The twin bill was originally scheduled for Wednesday in Winona, meaning WSU will be the home team for Thursday's doubleheader. On Saturday and Sunday, SMSU will take on Minnesota-Duluth (2-16, 2-2) at a site to be determined. The four-game set was originally scheduled for Alumni Field in Marshall. An official announcement will be made later this week. The Mustangs went 1-3 last weekend at Augustana College.
