Bell ringing celebration Sunday at First Lutheran

The ninth annual JuBELLant Celebration will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Lutheran Church, 100 Church St., Marshall. Admission is $5 with no charge for students or children. The performance will feature handbell choirs from Marshall in solo and mass ringing. Come to hear "King of Kings" arranged by Ward, "Lamb of God" (Agnus Dei) by Moklebust and "Jubellant Celebration" by Kerr, among others. The public is invited to attend.

Support group starts April 29

Beginning Experience of Southwest Minnesota, a peer ministry support group for widowed, separated and divorced people, is offering its Level I Series for eight weeks beginning April 29. The Monday sessions begin at 7 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Marshall.

Registration will take place the first two Mondays starting at 6:30 p.m. Registration is then closed for that session. The support group is open to people of all denominations. There is a fee to cover the cost of materials.

This series is designed for those wishing to work through the grieving process following the loss of a loved one through death, divorce or separation. All dialogue is confidential, and facilitators are trained individuals who have suffered a similar loss. New Ulm Diocese CCW to have convention

The New Ulm Diocese Council of Catholic Women is planning its 54th annual convention hosted by the Church of St. Pius X, Glencoe on Saturday, April 27. The theme of the day is: "Be an Instrument of Salvation." The keynote speaker, Colleen Carroll Campbell, will address "My Sisters the Saints."

Campbell is an author, print and broadcast journalist and former presidential speechwriter. She writes for such national outlets as The New York Times, Washington Post, National Review Online, America and First Things, appears as a commentator on such networks as FOX News, CNN, PBS and NPR and hosts "Faith and Culture," a weekly television and radio interview show that airs internationally on EWTN, the world's largest religious network. Campbell speaks to audiences across America. Her newest book is "My Sisters the Saints: A Spiritual Memoir," and her newest role is anchor of "EWTN Daily News with Colleen Carroll Campbell," a nightly TV newscast to be filmed on Capitol Hill and broadcast internationally starting this summer. The convention day, which begins at 7:30 a.m., includes keynote speaker, Mass celebrated by the Rev. Bishop John M. LeVoir, lunch, a silent auction, various displays, vendors, religious article suppliers, Catholic Q&A with Msgr. Eugene Lozinski and concludes with prayer at 2:30 p.m. Join us for a day of prayer, education and fun.
