Behind a final round score of 80 from Southwest Minnesota State junior Marissa Campeau's seventh-place finish, the Mustang women's golf team completed the Green and Gold Classic in fifth place.

The 10-team event was hosted by Northwest Missouri State and Missouri Western State. Monday's final round took place at Mozingo Golf Course in Maryville, Mo., though the first round on Sunday was played at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Mo.

Campeau's 80 on Monday carried her to a seventh place finish in the 57-person field with a two-day total of 165.

As a team the Mustangs shot 347, completing the 36-hole event with a score of 704. Central Oklahoma took top honors in the team event with a score of 629.

Krista Weiszhaar was 10 shots back of Campeau, as her 31-over score was good enough for 17th place individually. Abby Gruber shot a 177 to tie for 21st. Haley Gudim carded an 36-hole total of 187 while tying for 36th, and Rachel Patnoe tied for 40th with a 189 to round out the Mustangs in competition.

The Mustangs are back in action Saturday and Sunday for the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Spring Championships. Originally set for Dacotah Ridge Golf Club in Morton, the recent snow accumulation moved the event to the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex (Posse Course) in Smithville, Mo. Schools from the NSIC will play 36 holes in continuation from the NSIC fall championships at The Classic at Madden's in Brainerd. Augustana is atop the team leaderboard with a 646, while SMSU sits in seventh at 736.
