Aaron Polejewski and Nate Hoeft combined to hold Sacred Heart to just one hit Sunday as the Marshall Blue VFW baseball team earned a 3-1 road win.
Polejewski got the start and worked the first five innings, allowing one hit and striking out six. Hoeft pitched two shutout innings and struck out four batters to close out the game.
Blue's offense did enough to get the win, plating three runs on five hits. After Sacred Heart scored one run in the third to tie the game, Marshall came back with two runs in the top of the fourth to get back in control.
Marshall's Brad Bahlmann was the only player to have a multi-hit game. he was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Marshall Blue (18-8 overall) continues play Friday when it kicks off a tournament in Alexandria.
