ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Notice is hereby given that Marshall Municipal Utilities (MMU) Commission of the City of Marshall, Minnesota will receive bids at the office of Finley Engineering Company, Inc., 1981 Engebretson Avenue, PO Box 259, Slayton Minnesota 56172 until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013 for the following:
PROVIDE AND INSTALL
UNDERGROUND FIBER OPTIC CABLE AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT
MMU 2013 Fiber Plant Additions
This work shall be completed in strict accordance with the Plans, General Conditions, and Specifications prepared for the project
All bids must be accompanied by either a certified check, cashiers check, or bank draft payable to Marshall Municipal Utilities, in the amount of 5 percent (5%) of the total sum of the bid, drawn on a State or National Bank; or by a Bid Bond in an amount of 5 percent (5%) of the total Bid issued by Surety authorized to do business in the State of Minnesota, said bond to be payable to Marshall Municipal Utilities. The check or bond will be retained by Marshall Municipal Utilities as liquidated damages if the successful bidder refuses or fails to enter into a contract: A performance bond and a payment bond in accordance with the Bid amount will be required from the successful contractor upon notification of the award.
Bids shall be prepared on bid forms as supplied in the Bidding Documents and submitted in a securely sealed wrapper and clearly marked upon the outside indicating the work and/or materials for which the bid is made.
Specifications are on file at the office of Marshall Municipal Utilities, 113 South 4th Street, Marshall, MN 56258 and at the office of Finley Engineering Company, Inc., 1981 Engebretson Avenue, PO Box 259, Slayton Minnesota 56172. Vendors who desire specifications may secure them from Mr. Brad Roos of MMU or Mr. Mark Thompson of FEC. Any questions concerning the specifications will be directed to Mark Thompson at Finley Engineering. Mr. Thompson can be reached at 507-777-2000.
The MMU Commission reserves the right to waive any irregularities in the bidding and reject any or all bids. The bidder is encouraged to become acquainted with the governing conditions and work description contained in the Plans, General Conditions, and Specifications.
Bids will be opened at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013 at the office of Finley Engineering Company, Inc., 1981 Engebretson Avenue, PO Box 259, Slayton Minnesota 56172. No bidder may withdraw their bid for at least 90 days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids.
