MADISON - Services for Arlyn Carlson, 87, of Madison formerly of Canby are at 11 a.m. today at Faith Lutheran Church. Burial is at the Florida Lutheran Cemetery, Canby. Arrangements by the Zahrbock Funeral Home, Madison.

She died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at the Madison Hospital.

Arlyn Louise Thompson was born April 6, 1926, to James and Anna (Zacharias) Thompson at Kenmare, N.D. She was baptized on July 1, 1928, by the Rev. Carl E. Cederberg in Bowbells, N.D., and confirmed in December of 1946 by the Rev. O. A. Olson at Florida Lutheran Church of rural Canby. Arlyn attended elementary school in Bowbells until the age of 12. She moved with her family to Canby where she finished school in Canby and graduated in 1946. Aryln was united in marriage to Ovie Carlson of Canby by O. A. Olson at Florida Lutheran Church. To this union six children were born.

Arlyn and Ovie farmed for many years. Arlyn enjoyed her family and spending time with them. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Canby.

Arlyn is survived by her children; Beryl and her husband Raymond Kuester of Canby, Graylen and his wife Yupa Carlson of Madison; Klay and his wife Mary Carlson of Stewart, Jerilyn "Jeri" and her husband Tom Anderson of Montevideo, LeWayne Carlson of Marshall and LaRaye Carlson of Lynd; nine grandchildren; Janel Kuester, Marney Negen, Chutima Huot, Parker Carlson, Jennifer Carlson, Rebecca Anderson, Donavin Anderson, Eric Anderson and Kautia Carlson-Snook; great-grandchildren; Chance Negen, Abigail Negen, Courtney Huot, Nathaniel Huot, Bryce Andrson, Scarlett Andrson; two sisters; Marilys Aune of Canby and Joyce Den Herder of Maquoketa, Iowa; and brother-in-law Darrell Kriese of Alexandria.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Anna Thompson, her husband Ovie, sister Zelda Kriese and brothers-in-law Merle Den Herdert and Roger Aune. Blessed be her memory.
