PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Canby defeats RCW in five

CANBY-The Canby volleyball team battled Renville County West on Tuesday night and came away with a five-game victory in the Camden Conference match-up.

The Lancers won 25-14, 17-25, 25-19, 12-25, 15-10 in Canby.

Ricki Kallhoff paced Canby with a 13-for-13 serving performance to go with four aces, 13 kills and three blocks. Dani Kontz had 31 digs in the win while Brook Bauman and Tara Kockelman added 20 and 16 respectively. Setters Abbi Denekamp and Abbey Pederson each had 19 assists.

The Lancers (3-8, 2-3 conf.) will travel to Tracy on Thursday to face Tracy-Milroy-Balaton.

MINNEOTA - The Minneota volleyball team stayed perfect in the Camden Conference with a 3-0 sweep of Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Tuesday in Minneota.

The Vikings were led by Taylor Reiss, who had 21 kills, three blocks and seven digs to go with a 13-of-14 serving performance with one ace. Shelby Corbin was 15-of-15 serving with an ace. She also had 17 digs and five kills while Megan Larson had 13 digs to go with five kills to go with three aces serving.

The Vikings (15-1, 5-0 conf.) will travel to Tyler on Thursday to face Russell-Tyler-Ruthton.

HENDRICKS-The Hendricks volleyball team swept Aberdeen (S.D.) Christian to move to 4-3 on the season.

Hannah Colgrove led the Grizzlies with 14 digs while Janessa Scotting had five kills. Hailey Teske and Anna Digre each had 1.5 blocks in the win. Hendricks committed only four service errors as a team on the night.

Hendricks will be in action again on Thursday when they play host to Pipestone Area.

COTTONWOOD-The Lakeview volleyball team swept Lincoln HI to earn its first Camden Conference victory of the year.

The Lakers (7-7-2, 1-4 conf.) won 25-14, 25-21, 25-19 over the Rebels (2-9, 0-5 conf.) in Cottonwood on Tuesday.

Lakeview was led by Brianna Hoffman, who had 10 kills, three blocks and was 10-of-11 with an ace serving. Brooke Taylor paced Lincoln HI with eight kills and was 9-for-11 with two aces serving.

Both teams will be at hom Thursday as Lincoln HI hosts Lac qui Parle Valley in Ivanhoe and Lakeview hosts Dawson-Boyd in Cottonwood.

WESTBROOK-The Westbrook-Walnut Grove volleyball team took two games to extra points against Southwest Minnesota Christian on Tuesday in Westbrook, but the Chargers fell to the Eagles in four games, 29-27, 18-25, 20-25, 27-29 in Red Rock Conference play.

Dayna Comnick led the Chargers with 20-kill, 21-dig double-double. Cassidy Mischke had three ace serves and 10 kills. Maddison Takle added six ace serves whie Liz Woelber had 24 digs and Abby Herding had 36 set assists.

WWG (7-7, 1-2 conf.) will travel to Fulda on Thursday for another conference matchup.

The Rebels host Ellsworth in a conference matchup Thursday night.

The Knights picked-up 16 blocks with five a piece from Dana Schaefer and Justine Possail. Destinee Strand contributed 14 set assists and nine digs in the loss. Digs leader for RTR was Anna Madsen with 16.

RTR will take on another Camden conference rival Minneota on Thursday.
