PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Minneota rolls past RTR

Class A No. 3-ranked Minneota showed its dominance Thursday, taking down Camden Conference rival Russell-Tyler-Ruthton in straight sets.

The Vikings won 25-14, 25-15, 25-17 to improve their overall record to 16-1 and remain undefeated (6-0) in conference action.

Taylor Reiss had 22 kills, 14 digs, two ace blocks and was 20-for-20 serving with three aces to lead Minneota to victory. Shelby Corbin anchored the defense with 23 digs, while Payton Boerboom added 12. Molly Hennen chipped in with 11 kills, 10 digs and two ace serves, while Megan Larson recorded 34 sets assists and five kills.

Anna Madsen led the Knights with 14 digs, while Janel Wichern had 13 digs and eight kills. Destinee Strand contributed 15 set assists and nine digs.

On Tuesday, Minneota will attempt to stretch its winning streak to 13 when it hosts Lakeview, while RTR (7-6, 4-2 Camden) looks to get back on track when its hosts Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg.

Led by Abby Herding's eight ace serves, 16 digs and 26 set assists, the Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers swept Fulda in Red Rock Conference volleyball action Thursday in Fulda.

Dayna Comnick pounded down 18 kills and recorded 15 digs for the Chargers, while Cassidy Mischke chipped in with 15 digs and Elizabeth Woelber 13. Madison Tackle went 8-for-8 serving with an ace and also added six kills and a block. Alexa Byers was 13-for-14 serving with an ace.

WWG (8-6, 2-2 Red Rock) will host Adrian on Tuesday.

Class A No. 10-ranked Tracy-Milroy-Balaton got back to its winning ways, defeating Canby 3-0 Thursday night in Tracy.

The Panthers improve to 9-3 overall and 5-1 in the Camden Conference with the 25-14, 25-16, 25-14 win over the Lancers. Gabbie Gervais led TMB at the serving line, going 23-for-24 with nine aces in addition to delivering 27 set assists. Anna Peterson went 12-for-12 serving with four aces and also chipped in with a team-high 13 digs.

The Panthers had a balanced attack, with Jessie Nelson (8), Kassidy Przymus (7), Sammie Gervais (6) and Sydney Lanoue (5) combining for 26 kills. Przymus and Gabbie Gervais added nine and seven digs respectively.

TMB and Canby continue action today at the Burnsville Tournament.

The Wabasso Rabbits picked up another Tomhawk Conference victory, defeating Springfield in straight sets Thursday in Wabasso.

The Rabbits won 25-16, 25-13, 25-17. Mindy Goblirsch had a solid night at the serving line, going 17-for-17 with three aces, while Jamie Goblirsch collected 12 digs. Chelsey Guetter hammered down 17 kills and also chipped in 10 digs, while Morgan Frank had five kills and three ace blocks. Callie Rohlik added five kills, two ace serves and two blocks.

Next up, Wabasso (9-2, 3-1 Tomahawk) will travel to Sleepy Eye on Tuesday.

Lincoln HI won the second set to even the score against Lac qui Parle Valley, but the Rebels were unable to keep the momentum rolling and fell 3-1 Thursday in Ivanhoe.

The Eagles took the match 25-10, 23-25, 25-8, 25-19. Alyssa Otto collected 12 digs, set up 11 assists and had one ace block for LH. Morgan Citterman went 11-for-12 serving with an ace in addition to contributing 11 set assists. Emily Swanson and Brandi Barke chipped in with 11 digs apiece, while Maranda Jerzak and Jordan Bucholz each added five kills for the Rebels.

LH (2-10, 0-6 Camden) continues action on the road against Renville County West on Tuesday.

Lakeview's MaKana Barker was firing on all cylinders collecting 22 assists, 18 digs and two blocks. Brianna Hoffman had seven kills and went 11-for-11 with one ace.

Dawson-Boyd (5-3, 3-3 Camden) will travel to the Burnsville tournament this weekend. Lakeview (7-8-2, 1-5 Camden) will play Minneota Tuesday in a Camden conference contest.

The Red Rock Central Falcons soared to victory over Adrian Thursday.

Senior Brooke Rasmussen inspired Red Rock saving recording her 1000th dig with a total of 19 on the night. Cassandra Erickson contributed 11 kill, 14 digs and 2 blocks while going 12-for-12 from the line with 2 aces.

The Falcons improve to 6-5 on the season and will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to Edgerton.
