PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Blackjacks stun Dragons

ADRIAN - The Dawson-Boyd football team overcame a halftime deficit to hand sixth-ranked Adrian its first loss of the season in a 34-20 win on Thursday night in Little Sioux football.

The seventh-ranked Blackjacks outscored the Dragons 26-6 in the second half.

Joey Lee had four touchdown passes to go with 195 yards, 123 of which went to Michael Lee, who also caught three touchdown passes.

Dalton Palmer scored on the ground and through the air, tallying 40 yards on the ground.

Dawson-Boyd will play host to Tracy-Milroy-Balaton on Tuesday while Adrian will play host to undefeated Minneota/Lincoln HI.

Minneota/Lincoln HI's Austin Buysse took to the air with 12 completions for 305 yards. He threw for five touchdowns utilizing different receivers for each including Alex Engler, Nicholas Esping, Cole Hennen, Jordan Beck and Daniel Harrison.

Jeff Gladis controlled the rushing game with 69 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown. Nathan Pavek contributed three carries for 67 yards including a 36 yard rushing touchdown.

Defensively, the Vikings picked-up four sacks with two from Harrison and one a piece from Hennen and Brock Fox.

For the Rebels, Seth Bass was both the rushing and passing leader completing we passes for 103 yards and rushing for 35 yards on 16 carries. Logan Kluis added six carries for 35 yards and one touchdown.

The Vikings remain undefeated this season and will challenge the 6-1 Adrian Dragons on Wednesday. MCC falls to 2-5 and will travel to Lakeview on Wednesday.

CANBY - A sole touchdown in the first-quarter lifted the Canby Lancers over Lakeview in a Little Sioux Conference victory.

The Lancers attacked from the ground with 238 rushing yards on 36 carries. Michael Slaba was rushing leader with 23 carries for 179 yards and a 50-yard touchdown run. Mathew Sisk completed seven passes for 73 yards in the victory. Zach Nuy led the Lancer defense with six tackles and two sacks.

Lakeview's quarterback Issac Loe completed seven passes for 38 yards. Defensive leaders for the Lakers were Jonah Dovre with seven, Jordan Larsen with six and Jeremy Rodriquez with five tackles each.

The Lancers picked up their second victory of the season and will take on LQPV on Wednesday while Lakeview plays Murray County Central.

TMB's Zach Seaton had a big night for the Panthers racking-up 129 receiving yards on two touchdowns. Brett Swenhaugen completed 14 passes for 247 yards.

RTR was led by Brett Vercruysse with 91 rushing yards. Tate Thooft threw seven passes for 25 yards.

RTR will travel to MACCRAY on Wednesday and TMB will take on Dawson-Boyd.
