GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Vikings use defense to top TMB

TRACY - After holding a 13-point halftime lead, the Class A No. 1-ranked Minneota Vikings stepped up their defensive pressure, outscoring the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers 35-11 in the second half to earn a 69-32 Camden Conference win Friday in Tracy.

Taylor Reiss paced the Vikings with 23 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals. Emily Stienessen chipped in 11 points and seven boards, while Shelby Corbin added five assists. LeAnn Jerzak shot 3-for-3 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line to contribute 10 points in the contest.

Kassidy Przymus led the Panthers with nine points and five rebounds, while Kaylee Kirk recorded five points and two steals. Jessie Nelson hauled down a team-high 10 rebounds and Cassie Hook added three steals.

TMB is back in action at home Monday against Lakeview. The Vikings host Canby on Tuesday.

Dawson-Boyd 65, KMS 34

DAWSON -Dawson-Boyd improved to 3-0 on the season with a 65-34 Camden Conference victory over the Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg Fighting Saints Friday in Dawson.

Katarina Kuhlmann contributed 22 points, four assists and three steals in the winning effort, while Justine Lee recorded 16 points, six rebounds, six steals and five assists. Kelly Husby grabbed 12 boards to go with 14 points, three steals and two blocked shots.

Madison Strandberg led KMS with 12 points.

Dawson-Boyd is on the road next against Renville County West on Tuesday.

COTTONWOOD - The Lakeview girls basketball team defeated Lincoln HI 67-51 in Camden Conference action Friday.

Brianna Hoffman led the Lakers with a 19-point, 18-rebound double-double while Morgan Citterman led the Rebels with a 19-point, 11-rebound performance.

Both teams will play again on Monday when Lakeview travels to Tracy to face Tracy-Milroy-Balaton and Lincoln HI will play host to Ellsworth.

CANBY - The Canby girls basketball team edged Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 56-53 in Camden Conference play Friday night.

Morgan Merritt and Ricki Kallhoff led the Lancers with 15 and 12 points, respectively. Justine Possail led the Knights with 16 points.

Canby is in action today when they play host to Hancock while RTR will play host to Lincoln HI next Tuesday in Tyler.
