GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: BOLD edges Yellow Medicine East

GRANITE FALLS - Despite a solid effort from the Yellow Medicine East girls basketball team, the Sting dropped their first West Central South conference game of hte season, falling to BOLD 69-62.

Haliey Enstad led YME with 15 points and seven rebound. Chyanne Sand and Kelly Anderson each scored 13 points while Sand added seven rebounds, five assists, four steals and a pair of blocked shots.

The Sting will be back in action on Friday when they play host to Melrose in Granite Falls.

TYLER - Twelve different players scored as Russell-Tyler-Ruthton toppled Lincoln HI 60-35 during a Camden Conference South Division game Tuesday.

Dana Schaefer delivered 19 points, eight rebounds and five steals for the Knights, who improved to 2-3 overall and 1-3 versus the Camden South. Destinee Strand added eight points, while teammate Kaylie Nielsen generated seven points and six assists.

Heidi Pavek led Lincoln HI (1-5, 0-4 Camden South) with 13 points and three steals. Morgan Citterman and Brandi Barke each contributed nine more, while Citterman pulled down 10 rebounds.

Edgerton 64, WWG 61

EDGERTON - Dayna Comnick and Elizabeth Woelber combined to score 40 points during Westbrook-Walnut Grove's 64-61 Red Rock Conference loss at Edgerton on Tuesday.

Comnick led all scorers with 22 points and blocked two shots, while Woelber posted 18 points, eight assists, six rebounds and two steals for the Chargers (0-5 overall, 0-2 Red Rock).

WWG, which trailed 38-25 at halftime, attempted a second-half comeback, trimming its deficit to a single point in the final minute. After a missed shot by the Chargers and an Edgerton rebound, the Flying Dutchmen made a pair of free throws to extend their lead. A 3-point attempt by WWG in the final seconds failed.

LAMBERTON - Rachel Kedl completed a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds as Red Rock Central defeated Mountain Lake Area 60-51 in a Red Rock Conference game Tuesday.

Kedl added six steals and two blocked shots as the Falcons improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 versus the Red Rock Conference.

Cassie Erickson topped Red Rock Central with 16 points, while Ramsey Piotter and Olivia Bittner each added eight more.

The Falcons won the game despite having a 15-5 deficit at the free-throw line.
