GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Eagles overcome Knights in overtime

MADISON - Despite holding the Lac qui Parle Valley girls basketball team to zero field goals in the last several minutes of regulation and all of overtime, the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton girls basketball team fell to the Eagles 58-55 on Thursday.

Kaylie Nielsen led the Knights with 12 points while Justine Possail and Destinee Strand each had 10.

RTR will be in action again next Tuesday when they play host to MACCRAY in Tyler.

PRINSBURG - The Canby girls basketball team overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Central Minnesota Christian 61-52 in Camden Conference action.

Morgan Merritt led the Lancers with 22 points to go with six assists. Sydney Sisk was next in line with 11 points.

Canby will face Southwest United on Saturday at Southwest Minnesota State.

Dawson-Boyd 72, Lincoln HI 43

DAWSON - Justine Lee nearly posted a triple-double to lead Dawson-Boyd to a 72-43 Camden Conference win over Lincoln HI Thursday in Dawson.

Lee recorded 26 points, 11 assists and eight steals for the Blackjacks, who improve to 6-1 overall and 5-1 in conference action. Katarina Kuhlmann chipped in 14 points, three assists and three steals, while Kelly Husby hauled down 13 rebounds to go with six points, three steals and two blocked shots. Sadie Zaiser added eight boards and six points.

Jordan Bucholz contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Rebels. Heidi Pavek collected a team-high 12 points, five assists and five steals, while Morgan Citterman had eight points. Maranda Jerzak added seven boards.

Lincoln HI is back in action on the road Saturday against Ortonville. The Blackjacks are at Canby on Tuesday.

RENVILLE - The Lakeview Lakers were able to stretch a 26-19 halftime lead into a 55-43 win in Camden Conference girls basketball action against Renville County West Thursday.

Sadie Stelter tallied 14 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals to lead Lakeview. Erin Stevens grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds, while Brooklyn Hartle had 12 points and Brianna Hoffman 10.

Sadie Treml led the Jaguars with 11 points.

The Lakers continue action at home Saturday against Yellow Medicine East for a game that was postponed.

CLARA CITY - Jessie Nelson recorded a double-double to lead Tracy-Milroy-Balaton to a 63-40 win in Camden Conference action Thursday in Clara City.

Nelson had 15 points and 10 rebounds along with three blocked shots for the Panthers, while Cassie Hook dropped in 15 points, swiped four steals and dished out three assists. Morgan Hoffbeck hauled down five boards and collected three steals. Gabbie Gervais added 10 points and Kaylee Kirk eight.

Ali Siverhus and Becka Kimpling led the Wolverines with nine points apiece, while Emily Orwick contributed eight points and seven rebounds.

TMB is back in action at home Tuesday against Renville County West.

Mady Johnson led the Chargers with 11 points. Kaylee Mischke followed with 10 while Dayna Comnick and Elizabeth Woelber each had nine.

WWG will be in action again on Tuesday when they travel to Slayton to face Murray County Central.

ADRIAN - The Murray County Central girls basketball team moved to 3-5 on the season with a 70-57 Red Rock Conference win over Adrian on Thursday night.

Rebekah Nysetvold and Morgan Behrends led the way for the Rebels with 19 points each. Jade Giese was right behind them with 18 and Angela Dahlgren pitched in nine.

MCC will play host to Westbrook-Walnut Grove next Tuesday in Slayton in another Red Rock Conference match-up.

With the win, the Falcons improve to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in Red Rock Conference action. Rachel Kedl contributed seven points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots, while Brooke Rasmussen added eight points.

RRC will host Fulda on Tuesday.
