PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Rabitts fall to BL-H-S in overtime

WABASSO - After holding a five-point halftime lead, the Wabasso boys basketball team fell to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart 70-62 in overtime on Friday.

The Rabbits and the Mustangs ended regulation in a 58-all tie to go into overtime.

Neil Eichten led Wabasso with 28 points while Tanner Bock recorded an 18-point, 29-rebound double-double in the loss.

Wabasso will be in action again on Monday when they host Central Minnesota Christian.

COTTONWOOD - The Lakeview boys basketball team broke into the Camden Conference win column on Friday night with a 65-22 victory over Renville County West in Cottonwood.

The Lakers were led by Jacob Neu, who had 20 points to go with seven steals and three assists. Max Horner pitched in 14 and Jaden Hoffman added 10 while Jonah Dovre had a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double in the win.

Lakeview will be in action again tonight when they travel to Morgan to face Cedar Mountain/Comfrey.

GRANITE FALLS - The Yellow Medicine East boys basketball team fell to Montevideo 77-49 in West Central Conference action Friday night in Granite Falls.

Chase Richter led the Sting with 17 points while Logan DeBlieck and Blake Lindstrom added 14 and 12 respectively.

YME will be back in action on Monday when they host Renville County West in Granite Falls.

Wabasso 70, BL-H-S 50

HECTOR - The Wabasso girls basketball team stayed perfect on the season with a 70-50 win over Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart in Hector on Friday in Tomahawk Conference play.

The eighth-ranked Rabbits were led by a pair of double-double performances. Chelsey Guetter had 23 points and 14 rebounds to go with seven steals while Morgan Frank scored 10 points while pulling down 11 rebounds.

Becky Franta added 15 points and Karlee Eichten scored 10 in the win.

Wabasso overcame a 36-31 halftime deficit to remain undefeated.

The Rabbits will host Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Tuesday in Tomahawk Conference action.
