GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: No. 1 Vikings topple LQPV

MINNEOTA - In a battle of undefeated opponents in Camden Conference action, Class A No. 1 Minneota came out on top, defeating Lac Qui Parle Valley 78-48 Tuesday in Minneota.

The Vikings improve to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play. Taylor Reiss recorded a game-high 21 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Emily Steinessen chipped in 19 points and three steals, while Payton Boerboom and Shelby Corbin had nine points apiece. Molly Hennen added five assists.

Kelsea Lund poured in 17 points for the Eagles, while Kaitlin Conner scored 10.

COTTONWOOD - Despite holding a three-point halftime lead, the Lakeview girls basketball team fell to Central Minnesota Christian 61-60 in Camden Conference action on Tuesday night in Cottonwood.

Saide Stelter led the Lakers with 18 points to go with her five steals and six assists. Brianna Hoffman added 15 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Madi Nelson and Erin Stevens each scored nine points in the loss.

Lakeview will travel to Dawson on Friday night to face Dawson-Boyd in another conference match-up.

LAMBERTON - In a battle of two undefeated teams in Red Rock Conference action, Fulda was victorious, pulling out a 73-51 win against Red Rock Central Tuesday in Lamberton.

Brooke Rasmussen led the Falcons with 18 points and three steals, while Melanie Kedl added 10 points and six rebounds. Cassie Erickson chipped in a team-high nine boards to go with six points.

The Raiders had three players in double digits for scoring, with Melissa Gehl (26), Sariah Cheadle (22) and courtney Tiesler (14).

RRC is back in action on the road Friday against Red Rock Conference rival Southwest Minnesota Christian.

SLAYTON - After holding a 33-28 halftime lead, Murray County Central outscored Westbrook-Walnut Grove 38-28 in the second half to earn a 71-56 Red Rock Conference win Tuesday in Slayton.

Rebekah Nysetvold chipped in 20 points and four assists for the Rebels, while Morgan Behrends posted a double-double with 17 points and 19 rebounds. Sierra Van Iperen contributed 13 points, while Jade Giese had nine points, nine boards and six steals. Angela Dahlgren added 10 rebounds and six points.

Elizabeth Woelber paced the Chargers with 33 points, three steals and two assists. Dayna Comnick collected seven points and 13 rebounds, while Kaylee Mischke tallied five points and five boards.
