BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: No. 4 Blackjacks knock off Eagles

MADISON - The Dawson-Boyd boys basketball team remains undefeated after defeating LQPV 70-50 in a Camden Conference North match-up.

Dawson-Boyd is currently rated fourth in the Class A.

The Blackjacks were inspired by an impressive performance from Michael Lee who led the team on offense and defense. Lee totaled 31 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block on the night. Jess Hansen contributed 18 points of his own, nine from beyond the arch.

Leading scorer for the Eagles was Kellen Kessler with 13. Garrett Olson added 11 points and eight rebounds in the effort.

Both teams will be back in action Thursday taking on Camden conference rivals. Dawson-Boyd will host Canby while LQPV takes on Minneota/Lincoln HI.

Murray County Central 67, Westbrook-Walnut Grove 60

WESTBROOK - Murray County Central overcame a two-point halftime deficit to preserve a 67-60 Red Rock Conference win over Westbrook-Walnut Grove on Tuesday.

Grant Rohrer had 22 points, 22 rebounds and three blocked shots for the Rebels (4-8 overall, 3-3 Red Rock). Jaden Boerboom added 20 points and four steals for MCC.

Alex Knutson (17 points, seven assists) and Shane Buchman (13 points, 17 rebounds, four steals) led the attack for the Chargers (3-7, 2-3).

ELKTON, S.D. - Elkton/Lake Benton moved up into second place in the Dakota Valley conference after its 56-40 win over De Smet on Tuesday.

The Elk took the early advantage holding De Smet to 17 points in the first half. A 23 point night for Heath Schindler sealed the win for Elkton. Schindler added seven assists and five steals. Krog contributed all over the court tallying 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.

The Bulldogs were led by Kyler Asleson who had 13 points, four rebounds and three assists.

DE SMET, S.D. (3-2 OVERALL, DAKOTA VALLEY 2-1): Broderick Poppinga 11, Kyler Asleson 13, Dylan Gehm 6, Austin Janssen 10. TOTALS: 16-52 10-16 40.
