GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Blackjacks earn key victory

ORTONVILLE - The Dawson-Boyd girls basketball team broke a 25-25 halftime tie with Ortonville to take a 52-49 win in Ortonville on Tuesday.

The Blackjacks were led by Justine Lee, who had 20 points to go with eight assists.

Katarina Kuhlmann added 12 points while Kelly Husby had eight points and eight rebounds.

Dawson-Boyd will travel to Tracy to take on Tracy-Milroy-Balaton on Thursday.

Dawson-Boyd 52, Ortonville 49

LAMBERTON - The Red Rock Central girls basketball team defeated Madelia 63-29 in non-conference action on Tuesday night.

Rachel Kedl led the Falcons with a 16-point, 14-rebound double-doulbe to go with three steals and two blocks.

Melanie Kedl added 12 points and six rebounds while Olivia Bittner and Brooke Rasmussen added nine and eight points, respectively.

RRC will take on Murray County Central in Red Rock Conference action on Thursday.

CLARA CITY - The Yellow Medicine East girls basketball team fell to MACCRAY 55-46 in non-conference play on Tuesday.

The Sting were led by a Hailey Enstad and Chyanne Sand, who each had a double-double. Enstad had 19 points to go with 11 rebounds and three blocks. Sand scored 12 points while pulling down 13 rebounds and grabbing four steals. Britanna Raddatz also scored 10 points in the loss.

YME travels to Renville on Thursday to face Renville County West.

MORGAN - The Wabasso Rabbits remain undefeated after defeating Cedar Mountain/Comfrey 60-49. The Rabbit's leading scorer was Chelsey Guetter with 18 points. Guetter also had eight rebounds. Erin Liebl contributed all over the court, recording nine points, four steals and three assists.

Morgan Frank added ten rebounds and eight points while Karlee Eichten had nine rebounds and seven points.

Wabasso is back in action at home on Thursday against non-conference rival Minneota.

TMB 75, WWG 43

WESTBROOK - Tracy-Milroy-Balaton used balanced scoring to upend Westbrook-Walnut Grove 75-43 in non-conference girls basketball action Tuesday in Westbrook.

Cassie Hook led the offensive effort for the Panthers with 12 points, followed by Sara Stoneberg (10), Kassidy Przymus (9), Kaylee Kirk (9) and Sammie Gervais (9). Jessie Nelson hauled down eight rebounds, while Przymus and Stoneberg grabbed six apiece. Kasey Hoek and Przymus collected three steals each, while Przymus and Hook dished out five and four assists, respectively.

Elizabeth Woelber led the Chargers with 11 points and five assists. Juliana Pederson and Emma Woelber added eight points apiece. Mady Johnson swiped a team-high three steals.

On Thursday, TMB will host Dawson-Boyd, while WWG will entertain Mountain Lake Area.
