PREP BASKETBALL: Lee duo leads Dawson-Boyd over KMS

DAWSON - Class 1A No. 4-ranked Dawson-Boyd rolled to a comfortable 77-27 win over Kerkhoven-Murdock on Friday night behind another strong performance from Michael and Joey Lee.

Joey Lee finished with 21 points while Michael Lee finished with 20 and grabbed nine rebounds.

Noah Stelter had a big night for the Blackjacks as well with 15 points and eight steals. Joey Lee finished with four assists and five steals.

KMS was led by James Faulkner's 14 points and the Fighting Saints' three point shooting was one of the few bright spots as they made five of their eight attempts from behind the arc.

Dylan Gehrke led the way for HBC with 14 points while Carey Taubert added 13 and Isaac Tilstra finished with 10 for HBC.

Thomas Blomgren finished as the leading scorer for RRC with 10 points to with nine points from Austin Price.

GRANITE FALLS - Sauk Centre used a strong first-half effort to take a 43-21 halftime lead en route to defeating Yellow Medicine East 73-47 in West Central Conference boys basketball action Friday in Granite Falls.

Austin Vikander dropped in 13 points for the Sting in the loss, while Blake Lindstrom contributed nine points, eight steals, four rebounds and three assists. Logan DeBlieck added eight points, four rebounds and three assists.

Cole Neubert posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Mainstreeters.

LUVERNE - Four players hit double-digit scoring to lead Tracy-Milroy-Balaton to a 74-56 win in non-conference boys basketball action against Luverne on Friday.

Derek Larson went 7-for-10 from behind the arc and paced the Panthers with 23 points, followed by Josh Kirk (21), Riley Kirk (11) and Spencer Smith (10). Smith also hauled down eight rebounds, while Riley Kirk had seven. Josh Kirk collected a team-high six assists, while Riley Kirk added three.

Josh Slieter led the Cardinals with 13 points and six boards.

The Rebels trailed 41-36 at halftime before being outscored 31-29 in the second half.

Heidi Pavek led Lincoln HI with 23 points and four assists, while teammates Morgan Citterman (13 points) and Jordan Bucholz (12 points) also scored in double-digits. Bucholz completed a double-double by collecting 10 rebounds.

TRACY - After holding a four-point halftime lead, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton outscored Lac qui Parle Valley 34-18 in the second half to earn a 59-39 Camden Conference win Friday night in Tracy.

The Panthers shot 18-for-25 at the free-throw line, led by Cassie Hook's 6-for-6 effort. Hook finished the night with 13 points, three steals and four rebounds. Kaylee Kirk chipped in 10 points and three steals, while Sammie Gervais dropped in 10 points and Jessie Nelson eight. Nelson also contributed six rebounds, while Gabbie Gervais hauled down a team-high nine boards to go with six points. Morgan Hoffbeck added six points and four rebounds.

Kaitlin Connor paced the Eagles with 18 points and nine boards, while Alaysia Freetly collected 10 points and five rebounds.

TMB is back in action at home on Monday, taking on Renville County West in a makeup Camden Conference game.

Alicia Ervin led the Wolverines with eight points, followed by Ali Siverhus (7), Ashley Dirksen (6) and Emily Orwick (5).

SLEEPY EYE - Chelsey Guetter recorded a double-double with 29 points and 10 rebounds, as did Karlee Eichten with 13 points and 11 boards, to lead Wabasso to a 74-71 Tomahawk Conference win over Sleepy Eye Friday.

With the win, the Rabbits improve to 14-0 overall and 9-0 in the Tomahawk, while the Indians drop to 9-8 overall and 4-6 in conference action. Morgan Frank collected 14 points for Wabasso, while Larissa Rohlik had eight, Becky Franta four and Kacie Rothmeier three.

Erin Liebl dished out nine assists in the win.
