MARSHALL - In the last week, the Marshall Tiger dance team has touched up its routines, getting ready as it heads for Section 3AA competition Saturday in Mound Westonka.
"We're working really hard this week to prepare for that," said Marshall dance team co-captain Shelbie Thomsen.
"I think we're ready, all we have to do for our dances is to keep cleaning them and drill them and run through them a bunch of times," said Marshall dance co-captain Taryn Rathman.

The Marshall Tiger dance team is doing a “Grease”?theme for this season. The dancers will compete in sectionals Saturday.
To prepare for Saturday's competition, the team has worked on its routines every afternoon, the captains said.
"We're making a few minor changes and really working on our technique," Thomsen said.
Thomsen said it will be the first time in a while that Marshall has faced other teams in its section.
"Just as a whole team, we're looking forward to competition with everyone in our section," Thomsen said. Thomsen said Marshall has gone up against most of the other teams once at the beginning of the season. "We're interested in seeing how we compare with them now as to the beginning of the season."
Marshall has had a few difficult competitions this season, Thomsen said, where the team didn't place. But Marshall still scored high, she added.
"That's important to look at the scores versus the placement," Thomsen said.
Thomsen said that the biggest competition for Marshall at the sectional tournament will be Holy Family and Mound Westonka.
"All three of us are just neck and neck," Thomsen said.
Other teams have also been doing so well this season, Rathman said.
"You can't really predict anything," Rathman said.
This past weekend, the varsity kick team won first, and the jazz team took second at its last competition for the regular season in Mounds View.
"It was really uplifting to do so well at our last competition," Rathman said.
Besides working out the routines, Thomsen said they're trying to make the week heading into sectionals fun as well.
"We try to make sure the girls don't get stressed out going into it," Thomsen said.
The captains said they were excited for sectionals, and that the team is ready.
"We will be fine, we want it, we're determined," Rathman said.
